I have a couple of Zyxel NSA310. I did install Debian on one based on old instructions. Supposedly it should be easier now and perhaps you don't even need a custom kernel. I put up some notes at http://xtl.kapsi.fi/nsa310.html There should be links to a few install instructions / experiences that might be useful.
