Debian lists all run on smartlist IIRC. So they are consistent.

The [title] format is something of a hack for people using dim mail
clients that can only sort on subject. People on debian lists are
assumed to have mail clients that actually work.

Debian list messages have a comprehensive set of headers so you can tell where
it came from:
List-Id: <debian-arm.lists.debian.org>
List-URL: <https://lists.debian.org/debian-arm/>
List-Post: <mailto:debian-arm@lists.debian.org>
List-Help: <mailto:debian-arm-requ...@lists.debian.org?subject=help>
List-Subscribe: <mailto:debian-arm-requ...@lists.debian.org?subject=subscribe>
List-Unsubscribe:
<mailto:debian-arm-requ...@lists.debian.org?subject=unsubscribe>
Precedence: list

That ought to be sufficient.
