Package: netcfg v.1.55, squeeze (testing) (debian-installer) System: Debian Sid, amd64
I installed Debian using a testing debian-installer, debian-testing-amd64-netinst.iso. After upgrading Iceweasel to v. 3.6.8 (experimental) the browser was very sluggish and had trouble handling localhost. The file /etc/hosts contains the following lines: --- 127.0.0.1 localhost 127.0.1.1 debian.domain debian # The following lines are desirable for IPv6 capable hosts ::1 localhost ip6-localhost ip6-loopback fe00::0 ip6-localnet ff00::0 ip6-mcastprefix ff02::1 ip6-allnodes ff02::2 ip6-allrouters --- Some internet search shows the problem is caused by 'localhost' in line ::1 localhost ip6-localhost ip6-loopback which should be: ::1 ip6-localhost ip6-loopback Removing 'localhost' resolves these issues. A similar error has also happened in Ubuntu using the Debian Installer according to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/apache2/+bug/285132 Jos v.W. -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to debian-boot-requ...@lists.debian.org with a subject of "unsubscribe".
