Exactly what are you trying to accomplish? In other words, what real-world problem are you trying to solve? I have been using Debian for ten years, and I have never yet had to create a custom version of the Debian installer. I'm not saying it can't be done. What I'm saying is, "Are you sure it needs to be done?" What, ultimately, are you trying to do? And why do you think you need a custom version of the Debian installer to do it? -- .''`.
