Package: installation-reports

Kernel freezes during install boot, requiring power-off hard-reboot to recover. Both same on both expert & rescue modes on Sun Blade 150 (m/c 1) & 2000 (m/c 2)

Install iso: 'debian-testing-sparc-xfce+lxde-CD-1.iso'
Version    : 20110117-08:09

m/c 1: arch sun4u

Keyboard: Sun Type 6 USB
Video   : atyfb - 3D Rage XL (Mach64 GR, PCI-33)

Install sequence:

1. Power on
2. OBP: reset-all
3. OBP: boot cdrom
4. SILO 1.4.14 OK
5. expert ['expert video=atyfb' & 'rescue' = same result]
6. Kernel boots & freezes @

Same boot sequence with following exception
[ 0.000000] Clocksource: mult[c80000] shift [16]
[ 0.000000] clockevent: mult[147ae14] shift [32]

FYI:
----
1. Gentoo 'install-sparc64-minimal-20110117.iso' fails @ same point.
2. debian-507-sparc-xfce+lxde-CD-1.iso boots & installs ok (except xorg)

Please Note, although I'm not a Linux newbie, I am a novice+
