Package: debian-installer Version: http://cdimage.debian.org/cdimage/daily-builds/daily/arch-latest/amd64/iso-cd/debian-testing-amd64-netinst.iso Mon May 9 17:11:24 UTC 2011.
I copied this image onto a usb stck with dd if=debian-testing-amd64-netinst.iso of=/dev/sdc bs=1M then attempted to boot from it on a Dell Poweredge SC1435 using SOL (serial console) over the IPMI channel. After booting I get a blank screen --- so I hit escape and get a boot prompt. So far so good. Then I do: boot: expert console=ttyS0,57600 Loading /install.amd/vmlinuz..... Loading /install.amd/initrd.gz.......ready. Probing EDD (edd=off to disable)... Then I see a blank screen and nothing else happens for at least fifteen minutes (that was a long as I had patience for). -- Dr Peter Chubb peter DOT chubb AT nicta.com.au http://www.ertos.nicta.com.au ERTOS within National ICT Australia All things shall perish from under the sky/Music alone shall live, never to die -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to debian-boot-requ...@lists.debian.org with a subject of "unsubscribe".
