Okay, yeah, I see what you mean. I built some single-language French disks and they exhibit the same problem. >This is what many reported a while ago, but I thought it should have >been fixed by newt and bogl-term. It's still happening, although I've >got the lastest packages installed here. Bogl-bterm isn't used at all in the non-LC case. It does seem like it has to be some kind of newt and/or slang oddity. If I manually replace the (UTF8) libslang and libnewt libraries on the root disk with the (non-UTF8 I think) versions from /usr/lib on my computer, accented characters start working again. I'm also seeing bizarre effects with dialog box borders: sometimes I get none at all, sometimes I get the "ASCII" borders made up of +---+ signs, and sometimes I get the spiffy borders made with line drawing characters. Replacing the newt and slang libraries doesn't seem to have made any difference to this one. Do you have the -utf8 versions of newt and slang installed, or the vanilla ones? p. -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with a subject of "unsubscribe". Trouble? Contact [EMAIL PROTECTED]
