Yes #636211 looks like a nice small bug to get started. Your schedule
while still a bit course grained looks realistic. You probably could
make it a bit finer grained by including phases for things like getting
to know the installer environment, documentation updates, ...

How much experience do you have with debian packaging? All the installer
components are basically small debian packages so you definitely have to
learn a bit about packaging. I suggest the new maintainer guide as a
starting point.
