maybe run that in debian-installer's unpacked sources: grep -r partman build/ You'll see a bunch of occurrences under build/pkg-lists, but also a few exclusions through anna's exclude mechanism, as seen in build/config/s390*.cfg; that might help you get started with getting rid of (bits of) partman?
