I installed debian today from the idepci install files I downloaded off
the debian website.
after debian had been installed it had not set localhost - ping 127.0.0.1
works, ping localhost doesn't and causes a dns lookup which obviously fails.
I added localhost to /etc/hosts and everything is fine on my system.

No reply from bug submitter, plus this is a potato bug, and we're not
working on such problems in potato anymore. Closing bug.
