Well, ok. So this problem will not affect (most) new users because they boot from a USB mass storage device, most likely using an an image with firmware included? That is relieving. Would still be nice if firmware dependency detection just worked for netboot too. But it's not critical. Most users will probably need a recipe for netboot anyway, and the firmware requirement can be included there. Maybe it already is? (netboot has been the most convenient way to boot the installer for a long time in my opinion. I don't use mass storage devices for anything else, so I would have to keep one just for the occasional installer use. But I realise that most users won't see it like that, although they should. They probably have some Windows PC or OpenWrt router they could use as a temporary boot server) Bjørn
