Hi,
Would it be possible for the MR in this bug by Jonathan Leroy
<https://salsa.debian.org/installer-team/netcfg/-/merge_requests/18> to
be merged before forky release?
This issues SIGKILL to dhcp6c instead of SIGTERM.
It is not ideal to be killing all DHCP clients — obviously it prevents
any kind of later renewal — but that is the current behaviour anyway,
and unfortunately due to the SIGTERM handler in dhcp6c it instantly
deconfigures the network, leaving it not possible to continue an install
without manual intervention.
I have tested the MR and it does allow the install to complete in an
environment where DHCPv6 is the only way to get an address.
If this change can't be made, maybe we could consider a note in the
release notes that IP{v6-only installs will require SLAAC. That is how
things are now but I don't believe it is widely known. Just a link to
this bug would at least provide the hint as to what manual intervention
is necessary in that case.
Thanks,
Andy
