If the install language is not English, this is untranslated too. It doesn't always happen. So far I think it only happens when installing =66rom a businesscard CD image. Even then, it does not happen for all the debs on the image. I've seen it put the package name in properly for some, and then display %s for one, and then go back to putting in the package name for others. My guess is that this is a problem tickled by something in the debootrap progress stream, and that it has to do with the wget progress data it displays. base-installer becomes confused, and is not able to find a template, and displays the fallback template, and also has a bug subsituting the %s with the parameter. -- System Information: Debian Release: testing/unstable Architecture: i386 Kernel: Linux dragon 2.4.23 #1 Wed Dec 17 13:50:20 EST 2003 i686 Locale: LANG=3Den_US, LC_CTYPE=3Den_US --=20 see shy jo --MGYHOYXEY6WxJCY8 Content-Type: application/pgp-signature; name="signature.asc" Content-Description: Digital signature Content-Disposition: inline -----BEGIN PGP SIGNATURE----- Version: GnuPG v1.2.3 (GNU/Linux) iD8DBQE/9Nj7d8HHehbQuO8RAi93AKChqnLnifqy67s2kJV7NuZbrQy7fQCg44SI jaopoZ0HQ5bw6mWwwSU42AY= =IrMX -----END PGP SIGNATURE----- --MGYHOYXEY6WxJCY8-- --------------------------------------- Received: (at 225858-done) by bugs.debian.org; 23 Jan 2004 18:58:34 +0000 >From [EMAIL PROTECTED] Fri Jan 23 10:58:34 2004 Return-path: <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> Received: from kitenet.net [64.62.161.42] (postfix) by spohr.debian.org with esmtp (Exim 3.35 1 (Debian)) id 1Ak6Vl-0007mh-00; Fri, 23 Jan 2004 10:58:33 -0800 Received: from dragon.kitenet.net (pm3naxs5-216.access.naxs.com [216.98.91.216]) (using TLSv1 with cipher DHE-RSA-AES256-SHA (256/256 bits)) (Client CN "Joey Hess", Issuer "Joey Hess" (verified OK)) by kitenet.net (Postfix) with ESMTP id B738818676 for <[EMAIL PROTECTED]>; Fri, 23 Jan 2004 18:58:27 +0000 (GMT) Received: by dragon.kitenet.net (Postfix, from userid 1000) id 4D3606E2EF; Fri, 23 Jan 2004 14:06:03 -0500 (EST) Date: Fri, 23 Jan 2004 14:06:02 -0500 From: Joey Hess <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> To: [EMAIL PROTECTED] Subject: FWD: Fixed in NMU of base-installer 0.050 Message-ID: <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> Mime-Version: 1.0 Content-Type: multipart/signed; micalg=pgp-sha1; protocol="application/pgp-signature"; boundary="X1bOJ3K7DJ5YkBrT" Content-Disposition: inline User-Agent: Mutt/1.5.4i Delivered-To: [EMAIL PROTECTED] X-Spam-Checker-Version: SpamAssassin 2.60-bugs.debian.org_2004_01_20 (1.212-2003-09-23-exp) on spohr.debian.org X-Spam-Status: No, hits=0.0 required=4.0 tests=none autolearn=no version=2.60-bugs.debian.org_2004_01_20 X-Spam-Level: --X1bOJ3K7DJ5YkBrT Content-Type: text/plain; charset=iso-8859-1 Content-Disposition: inline Content-Transfer-Encoding: quoted-printable ----- Forwarded message from Joey Hess <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> ----- =46rom: Joey Hess <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> Date: Fri, 23 Jan 2004 13:17:24 -0500 To: [EMAIL PROTECTED] Cc: Joey Hess <[EMAIL PROTECTED]>, Debian Install System Team <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> Subject: Fixed in NMU of base-installer 0.050 X-Spam-Status: No, hits=3D-4.9 required=3D10.0 tests=3DAWL,BAYES_00 autolea= rn=3Dham=20 version=3D2.63 tag 225858 + fixed quit This message was generated automatically in response to a non-maintainer upload. This way, if apt-install is used to install the kernel image and pcm= cia modules and they fail to install for some reason, and end up in the apt-install queue, this does not result in apt-install installing th= em when the kernel-image.conf is not properly set up. - Refactored most of the code in the postinst, breaking it up into subroutines for clarity. - Use only one exit point for errors, and always stop the progress bar. - apt-update is only used by this package, so inline it. - Remove some debootstrap errors which should never appear during norm= al (or abnormal) use unless d-i is very broken from the templates file,= no need to watse time and space on translations of them. - add some elipses in templates * Claus Hindsgaul - Update da (Danish) translation. * Kenshi Muto - Install jfbterm and unifont when LANG=3DJapanese, Korean, Greek, Chi= nese - Install console-cyrillic and console-terminus when LANG=3DRussian - Update Japanese translation (ja.po). * Michel Grentzinger - Update French translation. * Christian Perrier - s/pcmcia/PCMCIA in templates.
