The qlogic driver in the Debian kernel-source trees is broken, when nothing is connected to channel 0 on the card it 'hangs' the machine while it infinitely retries to find a device on channel 0,
id 0, lun 0 and never moves on to channel 1. Strangely the driver in a clean kernel.org tree boots up fine, 2.4.24 was the tested version.

The feral driver at http://www.feral.com/isp.html works fine with 2.4.24 and should probably be included in the Debian kernel source.

The hardware in question is a Digital PWS600au with a QLogic "new isp1020 revision ID (5)" according to the 2.6.0-mm2 kernel driver, although SRM 'sho con' says 1040, not sure if that's important. If you need any more information let me know.

Thanks,
        Jim.
