(Can someone remind me where the nodma spells are written down?) It looks like the system is not interpreting the TRANS.TBL in /cdrom/dists correctly; the stable->sarge symlink in /cdrom/dists/ is interpreted by the system as a file, not a symbolic link. But it is correctly listed as a link in TRANS.TBL. The cdrom was burned with the same procedure I used for an earlier (successful) install of beta3 (on different hardware); I don't think it is at fault.
