Yes, that's what I did in the end. However I think the text in the main screen needs tuning for that option to be more obvious. Current text is 'you can choose one or more of the following predefined collections'. This suggests that you should select at least one of the options. Maybe a sentence "You can also choose not to install additional packages at this time." could be added. I don't like the fact that there is absolutely no indication what packages will actually will be installed when you select a task. E.g. the SQL-database task: is that PostgreSQL or MySQL (or both?). The old tasksel offered more information in that respect. Pressing <enter> currently starts installation straight away, even if you press it by accident (maybe thinking you can go down a level and see what packages belong to a task). There should be at least a confirmation dialog. At least for people not installing from CD, an indication of how much needs to be downloaded should be displayed in the confirmation dialog and the user should be asked to confirm or be allowed to go back and change their selection. The same goes for how much space will be required to install the selected tasks. Last remark. 'manual package selection' is not a "predefined collection" or "software to install" and so IMHO should not be included in the list. Would it be possible to create a button for that option instead? > > P.S.
