Hi,

For Friday I have tried to install Debian on a server with a 3Ware 9500S-4LP controler (Bug #264787).

I am to try to build the Debian installer images with a new kernel 2.6.

I use documentation custom-kernel.txt.gz included in the debian-installer-manual package.

Step 1.
I compiled the kernel 2.6.7 with the command:
make-kpkg --initrd --revision=nodens.1.0 kernel_image modules_image

I installed the package created (kernel-image-2.6.7_nodens.1.0_i386.deb) on my computer.

Step 2.
I have to download and unpack the sources of the package linux-kernel-di-i386 on http://packages.debian.org/unstable/source/linux-kernel-di-i386-2.6

In the kernel-versions file I added the line:
# arch version flavour installedname suffix build-depends
i386 2.6.7 386 2.6.7 - kernel-image-2.6.7_nodens.1.0

Run the command dpkg-buildpackage:
linux-kernel-di-i386-2.6# dpkg-buildpackage
dpkg-buildpackage: source package is linux-kernel-di-i386-2.6
dpkg-buildpackage: source version is 0.62
dpkg-buildpackage: source maintainer is Joey Hess <[EMAIL PROTECTED]>
dpkg-buildpackage: host architecture is i386
dpkg-checkbuilddeps: Unmet build dependencies: kernel-image-2.6.7-1-386
dpkg-buildpackage: Build dependencies/conflicts unsatisfied; aborting.
dpkg-buildpackage: (Use -d flag to override.)

Is the kernel-versions file correct?

Why there is a problem of dependence?

HELP !!!

Best regards.
