Package: linux-kernel-di-ia64 Version: 0.54 Severity: important I did a d-i build today from svn and the build went fine. However, when testing the 2.6 kernel I noticed a couple udebs were missing. nic-shared-modules-${kernel:Version} and scsi-core-modules-${kernel:Version} are needed on a 2.6 build; but those udebs don't exist under 2.4. Can you take a look at this for us?
Reason is, some scsi stuff is linked statically for 2.4, while its modular under 2.6 - see #236699. Now - a few possible fixes (in my order of preference) 1) figure out the proper way to make initrd-tools choose the v2 driver and not the v1 driver. That way, I can make these additional modules, and can document the procedure in README.Debian (jbailey is the initrd-tools maintainer, he'd make a good starting point) 2) do two separate package list flavors for ia64 3) figure out a way to make a single package list work for ia64 - i think there was some syntax - starting the line with a '-' or something - that let you specify a given udeb as optional -- System Information: Debian Release: 3.1 APT prefers unstable APT policy: (500, 'unstable') Architecture: ia64 Kernel: Linux 2.6.7-1-mckinley Locale: LANG=C, LC_CTYPE=C -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with a subject of "unsubscribe".
