It was a small wart for the installer to prompt me for an IP address in this disconnected install (it appeared to correctly skip DHCP, presumably using the link state). It is vagely surprising that despite selecting a 2.6 based install I've ended up with a 2.4 kernel installed. This is hardly the end of the world, though. Since this is a CD-only install without network access I have not configured X. It would have been nice for the installer to allow me to configure network sources, even while unable to access the network. --------------------------------------- Received: (at 260152-done) by bugs.debian.org; 31 Oct 2004 19:50:00 +0000 >From [EMAIL PROTECTED] Sun Oct 31 11:50:00 2004 Return-path: <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> Received: from kitenet.net [64.62.161.42] (postfix) by spohr.debian.org with esmtp (Exim 3.35 1 (Debian)) id 1COLiC-0007aZ-00; Sun, 31 Oct 2004 11:50:00 -0800 Received: from dragon.kitenet.net (unknown [66.168.94.144]) (using TLSv1 with cipher DHE-RSA-AES256-SHA (256/256 bits)) (Client CN "Joey Hess", Issuer "Joey Hess" (verified OK)) by kitenet.net (Postfix) with ESMTP id 99D9117E51 for <[EMAIL PROTECTED]>; Sun, 31 Oct 2004 19:49:58 +0000 (GMT) Received: by dragon.kitenet.net (Postfix, from userid 1000) id 8CAC46E237; Sun, 31 Oct 2004 14:51:25 -0500 (EST) Date: Sun, 31 Oct 2004 14:51:24 -0500 From: Joey Hess <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> To: [EMAIL PROTECTED] Subject: Re: Bug#260152: about your Debian installation report Message-ID: <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> References: <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> Mime-Version: 1.0 Content-Type: multipart/signed; micalg=pgp-sha1; protocol="application/pgp-signature"; boundary="df+09Je9rNq3P+GE" Content-Disposition: inline In-Reply-To: <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> User-Agent: Mutt/1.5.6+20040907i Delivered-To: [EMAIL PROTECTED] X-Spam-Checker-Version: SpamAssassin 2.60-bugs.debian.org_2004_03_25 (1.212-2003-09-23-exp) on spohr.debian.org X-Spam-Status: No, hits=-6.0 required=4.0 tests=BAYES_00,HAS_BUG_NUMBER autolearn=no version=2.60-bugs.debian.org_2004_03_25 X-Spam-Level: --df+09Je9rNq3P+GE Content-Type: text/plain; charset=us-ascii Content-Disposition: inline Content-Transfer-Encoding: quoted-printable Sounds like the issues in this installation report are dealt with, so closing it. --=20 see shy jo --df+09Je9rNq3P+GE Content-Type: application/pgp-signature; name="signature.asc" Content-Description: Digital signature Content-Disposition: inline -----BEGIN PGP SIGNATURE----- Version: GnuPG v1.2.5 (GNU/Linux) iD8DBQFBhUI7d8HHehbQuO8RAgK2AJ4w0yuCdoCCfZ7RAprEZiKMrVYXMACffR5J aAwEl4CGspQzlv31Q+xlKsE= =uihL -----END PGP SIGNATURE----- --df+09Je9rNq3P+GE-- -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with a subject of "unsubscribe".
