I used the iLink (Firewire) CD-R/DVD that comes with the Sony Vaio C1MHP computer. Machine: Sony Vaio C1MHP Laptop (see http://kryz.org/vaio.html - NOTE not my page!) Processor: Transmeta Crusoe 867mHz Memory: 256MB Root Device: iLink (FireWire) external CD-R/DVD Root Size/partition table: N/A - Didn't get that far 40gb disc Output of lspci and lspci -n: N/A Base System Installation Checklist: [O] = OK, [E] = Error (please elaborate below), [ ] = didn't try it Initial boot worked: [O] Configure network HW: [ ] Config network: [ ] Detect CD: [ ] Load installer modules: [ ] Detect hard drives: [ ] Partition hard drives: [ ] Create file systems: [ ] Mount partitions: [ ] Install base system: [ ] Install boot loader: [ ] Reboot: [ ] Comments/Problems: The install booted up fine, selecting language, keyboard etc worked fine. But then the install detected hardware which didn't give any errors. When it came to "Detect and mount CD-ROM" the install reported that it couldn't mount the installation CD-ROM. Retrying does not mount the CD-ROM. The CD that's in the drive is the one that I used to boot up with; Debian Installer pre-rc2 mentioned above. I'm stumped on what to do.
