Quoting the manual: To create a MD device, you need to have the desired partitions it should consist of marked for use in a RAID. (This is done in partman in the Partition settings menu where you should select Use as:->Use the partition as a RAID device.) ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ If you do not have this option, that probably means the correct installer modules have not been loaded or for some reason are not available for your architecture.
