The same happens if the user unmout the CD manually ... I have been thinking about splitting (cloning) this bugreport, but it is a common problem for the apt and the d-i maintainers. And Jens allready noticed #282344 (now CC-ed) Apt maintainers: Are you in 'freeze' or before the Etch freeze?
