One thing I had to do manually, however, was to re-create the XFS filesystems. This machine is my firewall, and naturally selinux is useful for a machine in that position. Unfortunately, the default inode size for mkfs.xfs is 256 bytes, which is not optimum for selinux (see http://www.redhat.com/magazine/001nov04/features/selinux/ for one take on the situation, but there are others: try googling for "selinux xfs"). After the installer created the partitions and filesystems, I went into the second console with alt-f2 and re-created the three XFS filesystems by unmounting each, running "mkfs.xfs -f -i size=512 /dev/hdX" and remounting them. All worked fine after that. Since selinux comes with the kernel, I'd suggest that you make the XFS inode size 512 bytes by default, or at least provide for the user supplying options to mkfs. (I suppose I could have done this myself if I'd used expert mode, but I didn't think of it). There doesn't seem to be any major disadvantage to increasing the inode size, but I must admit I haven't looked very hard. I do have one other suggestion, unrelated to the actual installation: I came across the request to submit an installation report on http://d-i.alioth.debian.org/manual/en.i386/ch05s03.html#submit-bug, in section 5.3.6. This section, however, doesn't seem to be too sure whether the bug should be filed against the package "installation-report" or "installation-reports". It would probably save some confusion if the web page were more consistent. I tried first to file under "installation-reports" (plural), but that resulted in a crash in reportbug.
