Hi Joey

I don't think this is very conclusive:

Conqueror:/home/clive# script
Script started, file is typescript
Conqueror:/home/clive# tasksel
Use of uninitialized value in concatenation (.) or string at
/usr/bin/tasksel line 345.
Use of uninitialized value in concatenation (.) or string at
/usr/bin/tasksel line 345.

When I started tasksel 'print server' was selected. I deselected it
and selected 'Desktop'. Various print packages were removed and then it
installed the desktop packages; it installed gnome etc. and seems to be
OK.

Do you want me to repeat the install or do you think it was down to the
flakey mirror?

Regards

Clive
