OK, missed them first. Some of them happen during the HW detection stage, which is essentially impossible to avoid. Probing for a floppy disk at this stage is essential. Some occur during the partitioning stage. Here, I'll have a less strong advice so I'll let other D-I contributors give precisions or details about why partman is probing the fd0 device (which obviously adds delays on your floppyless system).
