As you wrote, either test the first patch again and include libkvm-dev or try with the second patch that builds with -linux.c, otherwise simply keep the project off from building for kbsd. For your information, the -linux.c source depends mostly on fopen() and reads (off head) from /proc/<PID>/cmdline and /proc/<PID>/stat, where stat is not always exactly the same.
