Package: diff
Version: 2.8.1-10

as of 2.8.1-10 diff has reverted to braindamaged posix behaviour:

% diff -u0 a1 a2
diff: `-0' option is obsolete; use `-U 0'
diff: Try `diff --help' for more information.
zsh: exit 2 diff -u0 a1 a2

if i revert to 2.8.1-9 it works fine.

i didn't see anything in the changelog which would hint this change was
intentional... so i figured it worth submitting a bug.

 diff - File comparison utilities
Closes: 295421
Changes:
 diffutils (2.8.1-11) unstable; urgency=low
 .
   * Changed default value of _POSIX2_VERSION in lib/posixver.c to
199209 to not break backwards compatibility (Closes: #295421).
People should be encouraged to set _POSIX2_VERSION="200112" in
the environment, see what breaks, and fix it, as this change
should be reverted some day after the release of sarge.
