Subject: kbd: Font <-> unicode mappings don't match any longer
To: [EMAIL PROTECTED]
X-Mailer: bug 3.2.2
Package: kbd
Version: 0.99-2
Severity: grave
In Debian 2.1, I used lat1-6.psf + lat1u.uni, which gave me a full Latin-1
font, plus selected VT100 linedrawing characters. After upgrading to Debian
2.2, this does not work anylonger. The upgrade didn't change the unicode
mapping, and lat1u.uni was removed, so it produced an error. Changing it to
lat1u.sfm didn't work either.
I've noticed the same problem with a RedHat 6.0 system, so I gather that it
might be an upstream problem, but it is still very serious for Debian that
it prevents the correct display of characters; using the settings below
gives me linedrawing characters for uppercase Latin-1 characters. Sometimes
it works re-running setfont after the system has booted, but sometimes it
doesn't affect all VCs.
