Package: network-manager-gnome
Version: 0.6.4-6
Severity: important

I have installed network-manager and network-manager-gnome. But Only root can
use network-manager through nm-applet in notification
area. The applet does not display in the notification area at all when I login
as normal user. If I run nm-applet in terminal, the
error messages is reported as blow.

** (nm-applet:4748): WARNING **: <WARNING> nma_dbus_init ():
nma_dbus_init() could not acquire its service.
dbus_bus_acquire_service() says: 'Connection ":1.21" is not allowed to own the
service "org.freedesktop.NetworkManagerInfo" due to
security policies in the configuration file'

gulfstream

Please follow the instructions in
/usr/share/doc/network-manager/README.Debian, paragraph Security.
In short, add your user to group netdev and reload dbus.
