Package: distributed-net
Version: 2.8015.46-9
Severity: wishlist

I have a dnetc running on the machine which is used as dial-up server.
The client updates it's work through a proxy running on the same
machine.

I noticed that the client processed only packets for the highest
priority project after upgrading to woody (it cycled through all
projects before according to its configuration).

The problem could be tracked down to the
/etc/ppp/ip-up.d/distributed-net script that gets called often enough
to update the client buffers that it doesn't have time to exhaust the buffers
for one project.

That behavior seems to be OK for a single client connected to the
Internet via dialup, but when having a number of machines which share a
proxy it is IMHO much less useful (the proxy will buffer some more
packets than a single client will send at once, the packets won't go to
distributed.net when that client flushes anyway).

So there should either be some hint when installing the package or some
configuration question regarding the ip-up script or at least in the
documentation.

Greetings,

Holger

These bugs should have been closed by the upload for version 2.9012.497-4.
This version was physically uploaded at the same time as 2.9013.498-1, which
appears to cause bugs not listed in the "newest" changelog entry to not be
closed. This was a mistake on my part.

See the changelog for the details.
