On amd64 (gcc-3.4/gcc-4.0) some tests run at build time don't
work when run via fakeroot:

Running these tests manually as an ordinary user (or

Known issue, a problem of some sort with fakeroot.
> dpkg-buildpackage -rfakeroot -us -uc
As Michelle points out, using the -r argument to dpkg-buildpackage is
the best option. The command is only used for targets which actually
require root permission (clean, binary).
