Package: sox
Version: 12.17.9-1
Severity: minor

Hi,

if you look at

~> sox ./vsound8592.au /tmp/v.recordplay.wav
sox: Unknown output file format for '/tmp/v.recordplay.wav': File type
'recordplay.wav' is not known

it becomes clear that sox tries to extract not the right file extension.
Formerly it extracted tke extension beginning with the latest '.' character
instead of trying to obtain the output format from the first '.' character.

Kind regards and thanks for maintaining sox

         Andreas.

I don't know exactly when this has been fixed, but it doesn't apply to
= 12.18.2-1 .

This has been tested with the cmdline you provided.

Thank you for your bugreport.
