Severity: important

Here is the scenario. If I have a mail I forward to my exmh mail
from yahoo and then I forward it back to yahoo it is munged in yahoo
but exmh can still decipher it. It can either be yahoo or gmail or
outlook or anything. The only thing that can read the email is
exmh. The munging makes the email unreadable and the attachments
all mime gibberish.

for example if I took this message.
- gzipped it
- sent it to my yahoo ( I could read it )
- forwarded it back to myself ( I could read it in exmh )
- forwarded it back to yahoo ( its now munged ) can't read it, no other
  mailer can read it
- forwarded munged one on yahoo back to myself on exmh and exmh can read it

I have this in my $HOME/.mh_profile

I have this in my .procmailrc since about forever:

---
# get rid of initial "From blabla" line, it confuses nmh's anno...
:0fw
| sed -e '1{/^From /d;}'
---
apparently it confuses not just anno but also forward?

see also pierre blanchet on the exmh-users mailinglist.

i'm closing this bug for exmh; i'm not sure whether nmh
is actually supposed to work with the old berzerkeley mbox format
(which is what's responsible for the "From bla..." line), so
you might want to submit a bug report against nmh.

regards
az
