If the line
user_pref("browser.startup.homepage", "");
is not present in $HOME/.mozilla/...[default/fc8o9573.slt].../prefs.js ,
mozilla
quits on startup without giving any error message. The homepage can be empty or
not, the variable must be defined, that's all.

If I launch mozilla with an empty prefs.js, it fails to start. If I put only
this line, it works.

I uninstalled every other mozilla-* package to try this, along with
Thunderbird,
and Firefox. This problem did not affect firefox.

Adding the line to /etc/mozilla/prefs.js does not help. When installing
mozilla,
debconf send an email telling that this file is loaded "after loading some
default preference scripts". The problem might be in one of these, I don't
know.

I tried this on newly created accounts to be sure, with the same result.

I cannot reproduce this with iceape 1.0.6-1. If you can please (ask us
to) re-open the bug and reassign it to iceape-browser.
