Hi,
Would it be okay to replace the default GtkEntry invisible char,
currently an asterisk, with a black circle (Unicode 25CF)?
This seems to be the norm on most modern desktops, is a little
prettier, and possibly minimize the risk of confusion as the black
circle is a much less used char than the asterisk. Some apps already
uses this as the default (Seahorse, Gaim etc.)
The downside is that there is a slightly higher risk that the users
selected font don't provide black circle. Still, the most popular
fonts in Debian (according to popcon) do, and several other desktop
oriented GNOME distributors (Fedora, Ubuntu SuSE) have replaced the
asterisk in GTK for some time.
I would be willing to provide a patch for this.
