closedir(3) man page doesn't tell you it closes the fd given by dirfd(3).
this means if you close() the fd before calling closedir(), closedir() will
fail. also, close() will fail if you call it after closedir().

the manpage should state that fd's returned by dirfd() should not be closed,
since closedir() handles them.
