Subject: kino: Very slow playback and mangled colours on PowerPC
Package: kino
Version: 0.92-1
Severity: important
*** Please type your report below this line ***
DV video playback in Kino is unusably slow on Debian Sid for PowerPC.
I get only 1-2 frames per second on a Mac mini, whereas Mplayer and
Vlc both give smooth playback.
With the XV display driver, the colours are distorted, too:
Everything is in shades of saturated green or pink. Shadows
are green and highlights are pink.
I can not take screenshots of Xv overlays, however it looks like
luma values 1-128 are green and 128-256 are pink.
The same problem affects Cinelerra (not supplied by Debian) on
Sid for PowerPC. It is reported to work OK on Slackintosh.
