Package: ndiswrapper-source
Version: 1.28-1
I use the WLAN USB Network Adapter "Netgear MA111" with Debian 3.1
"Sarge" without problems with NDISWRAPPER.
After installation of the testing distribution "etch", i can't use this
network adapter with NDISWRAPPER.
With Debian 3.1 and the actual testing distribution, the same windows XP
drivers are used.
The command "dmesg" reports the following:
ndiswrapper version 1.28 loaded (preempt=no,smp=yes)
usb 3-1: reset full speed USB device using uhci_hcd and address 2
ndiswrapper: driver netma111 (NETGEAR,08/11/2003, 3.0.8) loaded
eth0: link up, 100Mbps, full-duplex, lpa 0x41E1
wlan0: vendor: 'NETGEAR MA111 802.11b Wireless USB Adapter'
wlan0: ethernet device 00:09:5b:b4:bb:cb using NDIS driver netma111,
0846:4110.F.conf
ndiswrapper (set_encr_mode:695): setting encryption mode to 6 failed
(C00000BB)
wlan0: encryption modes supported: WEP; TKIP with WPA
If you need more information, please send me an E-Mail.

This is no bug. It is documented that `-Dndiswrapper' is an invalid
wpa_supplicant backend at these locations:
/usr/share/doc/ndiswrapper-source/NEWS.Debian.gz
/usr/share/doc/wpasupplicant/README.modes.gz
http://ndiswrapper.sourceforge.net/mediawiki/index.php/WPA
Please let us stop bouncing this around the BTS like we have something to
fix.
Thanks, Kel.
