Package: sudo
Version: 1.6.8p7-1.1
Severity: normal

Hi,

The sudo source package contains some autogenerated files, generated by
yacc. These easily cause inconsistencies and bugs when one modifies the
source files, but fails to properly modify the generated files for some
reason. Or the other way around.

It'd be much cleaner and easier for patches to the source if the
generated files were always rebuilt at build time, by a specific yacc
program that's build-depended on.

Because the files are shipped upstream, I suggest doing something like
this:

debian/rules clean:
echo "Autogenerated files, do not edit" > $autogenerated_files

  (effectively removing those files)

debian/rules build:
invoke yacc from the Makefile (which is commented out by default, it
looks like there is some configure option to enable it. Make sure to
explicitly invoke 'byacc' (or whatever yacc is best) so that you
don't get different results when someone has different alternatives.
