Package: lsh
Severity: normal
Hello,
This package contains two debconf templates, but it would be better if they
could be removed:
| Template: lsh/absolute_path_of_lsh_is_changed
| Type: note
| Description: lsh is now /usr/bin/lsh, edit /etc/shells as appropriate
| The absolute path of lsh is now /usr/bin/lsh. If a user on your system
| is using lsh as a login shell, make sure you edit /etc/shells so that
| it includes /usr/bin/lsh, or the system will shut out the user.
This should be placed in a NEWS.Debian file, which is the mecanism invented
for such things. See `locate NEWS.Debian` for examples.
| Template: lsh/add_lsh_to_etc_shells_if_necessary
| Type: note
| Description: you need to add lsh to /etc/shells to use it as a login shell
| Only commands listed in /etc/shells can be a login shell. If you want
| to use lsh as a login shell, you must add /usr/bin/lsh to /etc/shells
| by hand.
This should be placed in README.Debian. Or, even better, the template could
be changed to a prompt asking if this entry should be added automatically or
not, and the postinst should be modified accordingly.
Thanks, Mt.

I'm closing this bug since lsh (baby shell for novices) has been removed from
Debian and lsh-utils (SSH implementation) will soon take its place in the
namespace.
