GAIM crashes a few seconds after login with message:
Gdb-ERROR **: BadDrawable (invalid Pixmap or Window parameter)
serial 4319 error_code 9 request_code 132 minor_code 1
As long as I'm not logging in, it doesn't crash. I haven't tried with
protocols other than TOC and OSCAR: I've installed only gaim, not plugins.
I'd like it not to crash. On another note, GTK2 apps just feel slow in my
experience so far, and until GTK2 gets better, I prefer GTK1.2 when possible.
Newly installed Debian 3.0r2 system on an AlphaStation 600, type Alcor, with
EV5 CPU. It's running Marcello's Linux 2.4.24, libc6.1 version 2.2.5-11.5.

You shouldn't be using such an old version of gaim.
gaim works OK on 64 bit machines.
Alpha is too deprecated :-)
