--- Begin Message ---Package: sysklogd Version: 1.4.1-10 Severity: wishlist When I installed ipchains on Woody to deny all incoming packets, I found that all packet DENY's were getting logged to the console. I read and re-read the syslogd man page and tried a few different versions of /etc/syslog.conf to no avail. I had to search on Google to figure out the problem was with klogd, not syslogd. I don't think you should need to search the web to find documentation on this issue. Thanks! -- System Information Debian Release: 3.0 Kernel Version: Linux piglet 2.2.20 #1 Mon Dec 31 07:05:08 EST 2001 i586 unknown Versions of the packages sysklogd depends on: ii klogd 1.4.1-10 Kernel Logging Daemon ii libc6 2.2.5-3 GNU C Library: Shared libraries and Timezone ii klogd 1.4.1-10 Kernel Logging Daemon ^^^ (Provides virtual package linux-kernel-log-daemon)
