--- Begin Message ---Package: lintian Version: 1.23.28 Severity: normal According to the detailed error message for «outdated-autotools-helper-file», packages that don't depend on autotools-dev do not update config.{guess,sub}. But I'm not sure about that... it is possible to use `autoreconf' and force an update of the auxiliary files, build-depending on autoconf and automake only. Since automake depends on autotools-dev already, and the involved files aren't directly used at all (autoreconf takes care of it), there is no real need to build-depend on autotools-dev too.
