Package: evince
Version: 0.1.5-2
Severity: normal
Trying to print, with default settings I get the correct lpr command
(as per $PATH); but that does not allow to choose the printer. Trying
the "Location: Custom" menu item, I only get
** (evince:30718): WARNING **: Opening 'lpr -Paolw' for output failed
(evince:30718): GnomePrint-CRITICAL **: file gnome-print-transport.c: line 173 (
gnome_print_transport_write): assertion `transport->opened' failed
on STDERR (regardless if I use "plain" lpr, or with its full path, in
the selection box).
Cheers,

I think cups is nowadays the recommended way to print, and should be
able to handle most legacy situations; "lpr" visible by default would
be pretty low level details for the average user trying to print, so I
think it's best to not include it. Sites which really rely on lpr can
set the value in gtkrc. This is also the first time I hear about this
since Gtk 2.10 exists, but if the problem hits more people, I would
reconsider my position.
