Right after installing gcl, it did not launch.
I got the following error:
/usr/lib/gcl-2.6.7/unixport/saved_gcl: error while loading shared
libraries: libgmp.so.3: cannot open shared object file: No such file or
directory
after installing libgmp3c2 package, gcl launches normally.
