Package: hotplug
Version: 0.0.20040329-25
Severity: wishlist
It's not clear from the man page what this does:
# hotplug ;echo $?
0
# hotplug --help
Usage: /etc/hotplug.d/default/default.hotplug AgentName
[AgentArguments]
AgentName values on this system: dasd firmware ieee1394 input net pci
scsi tape usb
# hotplug usb
Bad USB agent invocation, no action
So [AgentArguments] aren't optional, despite the [].
# hotplug usb add
Bad USB agent invocation, no action
Well, it would be nice if usage would say what AgentArguments can be.
Anyway, I have to keep doing "init 1" about once an hour to get my
Palm back connected. invoke-rc.d hotplug restart didn't help.
The man page says
/etc/init.d/hotplug [start|stop|status|force-reload|restart]
but I thought we were supposed to use invoke-rc.d.

This package has been removed from Debian unstable. I'm therefore
closing this bug report. The package has been removed because it
has been superseded by udev. It's quite unlikely that your bug still
exists in udev, but if it does, please let me know.
