The upstream version has a transmission-daemon, a transmission-remote
and a transmission-proxy executable that allow to run Transmission in
the background.
However, these are not in any Debian package.

Is there a good reason for this ?
I compiled the upstream version from source, and i'm running
transmission-daemon without any problem.
There are currently three packages : transmission-gtk, transmission-cli,
and transmission which depends on the two other.
I'd like to see the transmission-daemon, transmission-proxy and
transmission-remote executables available in Debian packages.
Maybe they can be added to the transmission-cli package, or in a
separate transmission-daemon package.
