Package: debian-goodies
Version: 0.36
Severity: normal

There is a logic in the programm checkrestart to exclude files under
/var/run or /var/log or /tmp but this does not apply to files marked as
"DEL" in lsof output.

Please do the check also for the "DEL" filedescriptor check. Otherwise I
get many false positive as I use nscd. (I'm not happy with that but I
have a ldap setup and so I have to use nscd as the implementation of
ldap in libc is such kind of brainfuck!)

To the logic of the script, there is a "if
f.startswith('/var/log/'):\ncontinue" but this only apply to the for
loop "for f in self.files:". The for loop "for f in self.descriptors:"
is on the same indenting level so it will run also in the case when such
a file match happens.

 debian-goodies (0.37) unstable; urgency=low
 .
   * checkrestart:
       - Do not complain about deleted files in /tmp, /var/run or /var/log
         when seen as descriptors (Closes: #441529)
       - Fix typo in checkrestart (Closes: #444473)
   * network-test:
       - Include patch provided by Federico Ceratto which adds command
         line support, allows the setting of a verbosity level and makes
         it possible to log to syslog based on that level. This patch
         is useful if the script is run through init, cron or other
         task-scheduling tool.
