Package: xsane
Version: 0.98b-1
Severity: normal
When one goes to Preferences -> Change working directory,
one can get into a situation where the window showing
possible folders is blank, even if folders really exist.
I think it may relate to having particularly long names in the
directory, as it only happens for certain of my directories.
Anyhow, The pop-up window is generally OK, and all the buttons
work, but the central scrolled list of directories is wrong.
(The one headed "Folders".)
It is blank white, and there is no handle in the scrollbar
(the up/down arrows on the top exist).
Clicking on the blank white region yields no result,
but clicking on the region where the scroll bar should
be causes a list of directories to appear, along with the
central "handle" of the scroll bar.
Clicking on the arrows works also.
The problem is 100% repeatable if you have a suitable
directory, and one can go up and back, and the
problem repeats. However, if one goes down one level
then back up, the problem does not occur.
(One can then make it re-occur by going up one level
and back down.)
The contents of the directory, from "ls -F" are below:
0016.d camera12/ dur.267.2.sd
mimic.17.syllseq.lab

The way things can be made to appear all of a sudden leads me to
believe that was a bad interaction with the filechooser that has been
fixed since then. At least I can't reproduce it.
