Package: lyx
Version: 1.1.6fix4-2
Severity: normal

Hi,

Thanks for maintaining Lyx. I like it and use it.

1.1.6fix4-2 doesn't seem to recognize

        \fax_command "fax send '$$Phone' '$$FName'"

in ~/.lyx/lyxrc

When I run lyx, it reports

        Unknown tag `\fax_command'

My previous version worked and the "Extended Features" document says
it should.

Coincidentally, I noticed that

        /usr/share/lyx/configure

only seems to test for ksendfax. It seems to me that it should
also test for hylafax and efax, as documented.

Thanks,
Kingsley

Hi,
I've just checked the documentation for LyX 1.5 and found that there
is no longer documented support for efax and hylafax within LyX.
There is now a short description how to edit the converter so that it's
possible to change the used fax client. I've not tested it because I've no
fax system running.

I consider this bug fixed but you might of course argue that LyX should
automatically check for other fax clients beside the now auto-detected KDE
variant. In that case I'd like to encourage you to fill a feature request
in the LyX Bugzilla locatet at http://bugzilla.lyx.org.

Of course you're free to fill it as a wishlist bug in the Debian BTS but it's
clearly a thing that I'll have to forward to upstream and acting as a proxy
for feature requests is not really usefull for all the people involved.

Regards,
Sven
